Teaching Philosophy

I always enjoyed my life by studying the essence of the subject. Learning will be complete only when we give our knowledge to someone who really deserves it. For me teaching is an integral part of academic life. The willingness of a teacher to give his expertise to the students without expecting to get anything in return, also made me admire the academic community.

I have done my PhD in Reliability Analysis, a topic which I did not study in my MSc course. I got an opportunity to teach the same subject to MSc statistics students at Cochin University of Science and Technology, India. The experience that I have got from the class not only helped me to develop my own teaching style, but also helped me to approach the subject in a more practical way. While I was working at Indian Statistical Institute as a Post doctoral Fellow, I taught Statistical Computing to MStat Students, which gave me more confidence and  I believe that I am fit for teaching any applied statistical techniques. I still exploit the possibility of learning new ideas through teaching.
